The intent of EPSDT is to find and treat problems early before they become more serious and costly to treat.
Assessing a child's health early and periodically detects potential diseases and disabilities in their preliminary stages when they are most effectively treated.

- WIC
- Preschool Screenings
- Vision & Hearing Screening
- Developmental / Behavioral Assessments
- Well Child Visits (including immunizations)
- Lead Testing for Children Under Age 6
- Referral Services When Applicable
Program History:
- Established in 1967 at a mandatory service for all children in the Medicaid program
- Public Health is one of the few health departments in Michigan still offering EPSDT services to families.
