Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties in conjunction with Michigan's Prevention Network and other community agencies are working to raise the awareness of the importance of parenting.

Every person everywhere, every day understands their responsibility in raising Michigan's children.
MISSION
Parenting Awareness Month is a statewide campaign to promote awareness, education, and resources through the state outreach and local efforts – emphasizing the importance of effective parenting in nurturing children to become healthy, caring, contributing citizens.
PURPOSES OF PARENTING AWARENESS MONTH
To celebrate people who are raising children and:
Draw public attention to the critical importance of parenting for raising children who grow up to be healthy, caring, and contributing citizens.
Promote education and resources for developing skills throughout the year.
Encourage and assist in the development of parent networks throughout Michigan.
Promote locally planned events in March each year which focus on parenting and networking.
STATE CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES
The campaign conducts an annual art contest and produces posters and bookmarks for statewide distribution.
The campaign sponsors October Kickoff for organizers, does PAM workshops, and helps in planning parent conferences.
The campaign sends promotional mailings to libraries, bookstores, various state networks and media.

Helping children express all their feelings.

Working with our schools and community to make them better for children.
